BEAR 2019-2023 |
BEAR is a survival horror franchise created by Cheedaman that first started as a Roblox experience released on Tuesday, 21st of May 2019. The franchise has since received worldwide popularity.
The franchise currently consists of a total of 6 video games (2 main games, 1 prototype, 2 spin-offs, and 1 demo), and an ongoing batch of merchandise.
Games
The very first entry in the series was early prototype of BEAR called, Yes. This game made on September 22nd, 2015 on a Tuesday, and was published as a Roblox experience. However it is unknown if this game was public or private Roblox experience when it was released, but we do know that players found this game at the year 2021. After 4 years, the second and first main entry of the series called BEAR (Alpha) was published as Roblox experience. This game came out on May 21st, 2019 on a Tuesday and caught many players attention and was one of Roblox's popular experiences during 2019.
A few months had past and the creator of BEAR going by the name Cheedaman stated that a sequel to BEAR (Alpha) will come out on April 2020 but was delayed due to someone stealing assets from the sequel. A few more months had past and the sequel was said to release on September 20th, 2020 on a Sunday, the third and second main entry for the sequel from BEAR (Alpha) was released to the public as a Roblox experience, going under the name BEAR* when the game was released until the game being renamed as BEAR * after a few months. This game caught many players attention including BEAR (Alpha) fans, but sadly, BEAR * never got that same success as BEAR (Alpha) and wasn't that popular.
Then at April 1st, 2021 on a Thursday, a spin-off game going under the name BEAR (Beta) was released to the public as a Roblox experience. This game caught many players attention including BEAR fans. This game was well liked by the community and surprisingly had more likes than the actually main series. This game can no longer be access and is now a private Roblox experience.
Months have past and the creator of BEAR updated BEAR (Alpha) by posting a teaser for an upcoming update or game going under the name, Bear Alpha - Deluxe Update or B.A. Deluxe Update for short. The creator then stated that a demo showcasing this new upcoming update or game will be released on July or August but it was rescheduled to mid-late October 2021 release. Then at October 16th, 2021 on a Saturday, the demo for the upcoming update or game was released to the public as a Roblox experience to show what will be in-store for this update or game. This game caught some players attention including BEAR fans and the demo was well like, this demo was not one of Roblox's popular experiences since this demo was never updated and the player count for this demo died down.
Merchandise
Starting back at September 2019, official merchandise products (such as shirts, hoodies, stickers, skins, cases, wallets, prints, posters, postcards, pillows, bags, pouches, notebooks, magnets, greeting cards, coasters acrylic blocks, laptop sleeve, and pins) can be found in an Cheedaman's Redbubble page. Then on March 28th, 2021, on a Sunday, Cheedaman made a released to the public along with a new website called BEAR* ONLINE STORE to also get official merchandise products. Later at he BEAR * Lobby was updated and showcase an upcoming Official BEAR Plush. Then at November 14th, 2021 on a Sunday, the Official BEAR Plush was released to the public on sale for £24.00.
Future
Currently, the B.A. Deluxe Update is being worked on at the moment but Cheedaman has stated that after the Deluxe Update he will take a break from making BEAR games and finish older unfinished projects he had done in the past or make new games that he had in mind. Once Cheedaman finishes his old projects, he will pick up where he left off with BEAR*.
Trivia
- Before BEAR (Alpha) was made, Cheedaman made a game called Thomas Racing 2, a sequel to one of his old games and one of the characters that you can spawn as is Bear, but this is a rare chance of occurring.
- The early prototype of BEAR called Yes. is still playable and functional after all of these years, even though Roblox updates the coding and scripting.
