BEAR (Alpha) is a multiplayer survival horror game published on Roblox, created and released on May 21st, 2019. Published by Cheedaman, as well as developed by Croutonium, biscuitpuff01, PapaDoomsday, macabreroses, and DaDominator630.
Overview
In BEAR (Alpha), 2-10 players are required in order for the round to start. When a round starts, the game chooses which player gets selected as Bear, depending on their Bear Chance. Once a player gets selected as Bear, the rest of the player(s) are selected as survivor(s) and the round begins. As a survivor, the player must traverse the map to complete puzzles in order to decrease the timer to win the round, while simultaneously, avoiding Bear. As Bear, the player must traverse the map to find and kill survivor(s), before the round ends.
During intermission, the player can purchase skins, kill effects, and gears with Quidz in the shop. Furthermore, players can vote one-out-of-four options for which map should the next round take place at, through the Map Voting system. Once the voting ends, a gamemode will be chosen at random, and the round will begin shortly.
Players that have earned over 50,000 Quidz will be granted access to Spicy Servers.

Yes. is the original precursor to BEAR (Alpha).
On September 22nd, 2015, Yes. is first created by Cheedaman. Originally, it wasn't BEAR related until around 2018, where the Survivors only had a speed potion while the Bear had 5 abilities, where he could vomit, fart, scream to pause everyone, disappear and become invisible, and get rage to become faster and bigger. The game was never released to the public and left private until between late-2020 and early-2021, and it is still playable to this very day.
Idea of BEAR (Alpha) and Early Development
Cheedaman was looking for something to do like and he didn't intended for all the way it did, so he used the infamous image of the Bear he uploaded onto Roblox years before, and he took everything he learned on Roblox and he started development possibly in a .rbxl file before creation, planning and building the lobby, scripting the game and he released the game.MAY-19 ERA
MAY-19 is the first build for BEAR (Alpha), with the era from the period from May 21, 2019 to Early July 2019.
Release
The first lobby, called the Old Lobby.
Although the game was created on May 21, 2019, the release date is possibly after that date. The game used the Old Lobby, had no skins, kill effects and there was only one map, the Haunted Mansion.
Early updates
On June of 2019, Cheedaman started to add badges, which the first one is OG Alpha Player, and called his friends to develop the game known as "The Mandem".EARLY JULY-19 ERA

EARLY JULY-19 is the second build for BEAR (Alpha), with the era from the period of July 2019 to June 2020.
2019
Lobby Change and First New Maps
On July 2019, The Lobby was changed into something similar to the current, but without the Obby for Quidz! section and with white walls. The shop, with skins, kill effects and social gears were added and other gamepasses came to the game. More maps were added instead of just one in the coming months. Those being:
The Backrooms map was teased on the thumbnails of the game. The scripts seen in the JULY-19 build in the CORRIDOR OF TIME were left broken due to Roblox updates, and they had to rewrite everything. The lobby was eventually changed to current Lobby that we all know and love.
2019 Halloween Event and Sam
On October 2019, thumbnails on the page of the game, were added for Halloween, mentioning an upcoming event, map and exclusive skins. Days later, the release date for the Halloween event was revealed to be October 20, 2019.
The 2019 Halloween Event was the very first BEAR (Alpha) event.
When the date came, The 2019 Halloween Event was released with a new map known as the Abandoned School. Many exclusive skins were also added to the game, which were secret. Those being:
There was also a non-exclusive skin to the event, known as Inky. A "part" was put on the Obby for Quidz! section, close to the prize. If you could jump in, you would be teleported into a new place called Sam's Resting Place. A new character, Sam will start talking to you. The dialogue looked at that time like this:

Which confirmed that 2019 Christmas update was coming to BEAR (Alpha). The 2019 Halloween Event was concluded/ended in November of that same year.
Cheese Factory Addition and Removal
Cheese Factory is the very first community map for BEAR (Alpha).
On November 2019, with the newly trend of fan submitted skins to the game, macabreroses made a submission to the BEAR* Company server on Discord, where it was on a map.
On November 10/12, 2019, a new map was added, after the Halloween event, called Cheese Factory and this was the map that it made BEAR (Alpha) popular around the Roblox community, which took place on a factory owned by a company by the name of Cheese Corporation, which contain puzzles part of the gameplay, and a theme on the map. It was massively successful.
A badge was also added called KCAB EMOC T'NOD DNA HSARC I FI DNA, which making the obtain guide, would reward Atrocity, a new skin that would be rewarded by the badge, and it felt special.
On November 27, 2019, multiple reports that after choosing the map, they would lose all of their progress of the game. As a result, Cheedaman removed the map, never to be returning for 2 years in a row.
2019 Christmas Event and Whitey
On December 1, 2019, as teased in the 2019 Halloween Event, a new event was added with a new map, called Artic Valley, which you would battle a gigantic version of Sam, as EL SAM THE SANTA BRO, which is the franchise's tallest and biggest in height skin.
As you would beat EL SAM THE SANTA BRO, you would be rewarded with the badge Sam Victory! and one out of 10 skins. The boss was the rarest skin of the battle. It was the most popular event on the year.
However, Sam's dialogue in the previous event was changed to this:
WHAT. HOW DID YOU GET IN HERE!? Nonetheless that was Impressive. I guess I could give you something. You've obviously been looking for something to end up down here. Tell me. What is it that you want? Be Quick. |
Then, a question would pop up, saying “Go on. Tell Sam what you want.”. If time runs out, Sam would explode the Player, but the answer is actually a badge ID for the new badge, “2124490405”. Responding will give the badge and a new dialogue:
Why didn't you say so? Here, Take it. Now that that's out of the way... You might be wondering why this exists. And how I, Sam, am important. This badge I have given you is simply another piece of the puzzle. One day, with enough determination, Maybe you can put all the pieces together. In the mean time, feel free to chill here. New Year
Ending the 2010s decade, an update was made which made the return of the skin, Baldi, the early introduction to Cinco De Mayo and the adding of MystiC. It started after the 2019 Christmas Event.
Sam in the Shop and Monthly B.O.B.
On January 26, 2020, Monthly B.O.B. would began with R.O.B., and went from many B.O.B.s:
On February, 2020, Sam would appear on the Shop as the most expensive skin of BEAR (Alpha), with 95,000 Quidz. It was removed days later.
Lagoon and Malbear

On March, 2020, on one of Cheedaman's old games, Thomas Racing, a new badge was added, called Cheeda's magic badge where in the lobby, there is a hammer, and clicking on it, will give the badge.
On Monochrome, the TV inside the small cabin is clickable, and entering it, will teleport you into Behind the screen of which the online plain, containing a long hallway, and there is a room, where entering it, a black ball would be here, and by pushing it, a white cylinder would fall in the floor, and touching it, will appear a screen with a long phrase.
On the Haunted Mansion map, a cylinder was clickable close to the green river, and by clicking it, a secret passage would open, which is a darker version of the grass, and by entering it, would be teleported into a place called Woah that's really cool wow. Lagoon would talk to you explaining that the badge You must specify a name was a token to give a skin and badge called Malbear and @.
Egg Hunt 2020: Agents of E.G.G.
Since the game was very popular, Roblox decided to announce the Egg Hunt 2020: Agents of E.G.G. which was a 49-game developer hunt, without a central lobby. The update on BEAR (Alpha) gave so much attention, where you must find a key on every map at the time, then a door in the lobby would be open.
Lagoon would appear in IT IS THE ART where you must follow his dialogue to solve the puzzle with the Color Code with the paintings in order. Later, a door would open and it would teleport users into IT IS THE SPACE, where it is an obby and by completing it, a room would be seen with a button. Pressing it will open the Royal Egg of the Bearers which would be obtainable up until Easter was concluded.
BEAR*'s Announcement and Delay
In the BEARSTAR Discord server, BEAR* is announced as it was created on March 16th, 2020 and it would be released on April 2020. However, the assets were stolen by Manny20453, a former contributor who was kicked out for being under 13, which lead to the delay of BEAR*.JUNE-20 ERA

- Originally, many thought the BEAR Franchise started when BEAR (Alpha) was created. However, when Yes. was discovered, this claim was proven false.
- However, when BEAR SIGMA was first released, it was discovered the overall debut of the charaters, which was Whitey999, which was Cheedaman's Internet debut and original account.
- Cheedaman has stated that BEAR (Alpha) will receive minor updates as BEAR* will be the main focus of BEAR's future.
- This excludes Alpha Month, in which BEAR (Alpha) will get frequent updates as Alpha Month takes place on the month BEAR (Alpha) was created, that being May.
- BEAR (Alpha) is one of the most popular Roblox experiences during 2019, having over 200 million visits as well as being featured on the front page.
- Furthermore, BEAR (Alpha) was claimed to be the scariest game on Roblox.
- Despite BEAR (Alpha) having the title specify the game is in its Alpha development stage, it actually isn't. Cheedaman stated that the game kept the Alpha tag because it stuck on and helped with the games branding, this statement was added to the description on N/A.
- 2021 was the only year with only one event, that being the 2021 Cinco De Mayo Event and the announcement of the Deluxe Update.
